چکیده

Acetate adsorbs on Pd(111) as a disordered overlayer. We have used a recently developed LEED I/V technique that allows the structure of disordered molecular overlayers to be examined to determine the structure of acetate adsorbed on Pd(111). Our experimental results are compared with plane-wave Density Functional Theory calculations. The calculated and observed adsorption geometries are in excellent agreement. ∗ Corresponding author. The structure of formate species on Pd(111) calculated by density functional theory and determined using low energy electron diffraction

The structure of formate species adsorbed on Pd(111) has been determined using low-energy electron diffraction (LEED). The presence of formate species on the Pd(111) surface was established using reflection-absorption infrared spectroscopy (RAIRS). The oxygen atoms of the formate species were found to be adsorbed over surface palladium atoms with the OCO plane perpendicular to the surface. The ...

Structure determination of disordered organic molecules on surfaces from the Bragg spots of low-energy electron diffraction and total energy calculations

We show that an analysis of the intensity versus energy variation of Bragg spots due to low-energy electron diffraction from a disordered overlayer of molecules on a crystal surface allows a much more convenient method of determining the local adsorption geometries of such molecules than previously analyzed weak diffuse diffraction patterns. For the case of methanol on Pd~111!, we show that the...

Coordination and Siting of Cu+ Ion Adsorbed into Silicalite-2 Porous Structure: A Density Functional Theory Study

Coordination of Cu+ ions adsorbed on plausible sites of a silicalite-2 lattice has been investigated computationally via hybrid density functional theory method at the B3LYP/6-311+G* and B3LYP/Def2-TZVP levels of theory using molecular models of the active site. The symmetrical coordination of Cu+ ions to almost five oxygen atoms of the all-silica framework in six-membered ring (6MR) sites of t...

Adsorption structure determination of a large polyaromatic trithiolate on Cu(111)

The adsorption geometry of 1,3,5-tris(4-mercaptophenyl)benzene (TMB) on Cu(111) is determined with high precision using two independent methods, experimentally by quantitative low energy electron diffraction (LEED-I(V)) and theoretically by dispersion corrected density functional theory (DFT-vdW). Structural refinement using both methods consistently results in similar adsorption sites and geom...

Investigation of Nickle nanoclusters properties by density functional theory

Clusters play important role for understanding and transferring microscopic to macroscopic properties.Geometric and electron properties of Small nickel clusters up to the tetramer has been investigated by Density Functional Theory (DFT). Raising the number of nickel clusters atoms were indicated decreasing the average equilibrium (Ni-Ni) distance of atoms and also the binding energy of per atom...
